Welcome to Luminara Dental Clinic! I’m Dr. Rasha Al-Taweel, and I’m thrilled to be part of this modern and innovative practice. My journey in dentistry began with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in London, Ontario. From there, I moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where I had the privilege of serving a diverse patient base, including the indigenous community.My approach to dental care combines the sincerity, patience, and kindness of small-town values with cutting-edge techniques and a contemporary touch. With additional qualifications in Dental Medicine and Surgery from the UAE, my robust educational background enables me to effectively meet my patients' oral health needs.
Having practiced in Dubai, Thunder Bay, and Ottawa, I envisioned a unique, patient-centered dental experience. At Luminara Dental Clinic, I focus on creating an accessible, relaxing environment where every detail of your visit is meticulously fostered. My goal is to help you achieve your oral health goals with minimal stress, pressure, and anxiety.I’m a registered dentist with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and an active member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), where I also contribute to the Education Advisory Committee. Additionally, I am a member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) and the Ottawa Dental Society (ODS). My dedication to the dental community was previously demonstrated as an executive board member of the Thunder Bay Dental Association (TBDA).
Outside of my professional life, I cherish quality time with my husband and two young sons. I’m passionate about reading, meditation, hiking, and yoga, which help me maintain a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Does this include a cleaning?
The package focuses on a full diagnostic exam and plan. A hygiene cleaning can be booked the same day or at a follow-up visit, billed separately.
Can I use my insurance instead?
Yes. If you have coverage, we can bill your plan directly at our regular fees instead — whichever works out better for you.
How long does the appointment take?
Plan for about 60 minutes. We'd rather take the time to do it properly than rush.
Am I committed to any treatment?
Not at all. You leave with a clear plan and cost overview, and you decide what — and when — to proceed.
